Untitled (Bull Desire)

Date: 2011
Medium: Hand-drawn stop-motion animation with sound
Runtime: 1m51s

This work is my take on the ways the bull is depicted as a vehicle for transformation in Greek mythology. In my narrative, a girl/woman longs to sleep inside, be protected by, and be carried by the bull. The act of drawing in increments represents the conflict between her dream of utopia and that her desire can only be located in a constructed fantasy. The sound accompanying the animation is of the girl/woman mawkishly humming Edelweiss, a song about the dream of a pure, perfect place.
